On Tuesday, July 10th, John Madison, the founder and active President of John Madison Landscape, was installed as Action Chapter President of the Florida Nursery, Growers, and Landscape Association for 2012-2013, also known as FNGLA. He replaces Doug Reichwein of Whistling Pines Foliage, Inc. It is a huge honor to be nominated as Action Chapter President because the Action Chapter is a prestigious group comprised of landscape and nursery professionals who are not only members of FNGLA, but they share a deep passion for reaching out to the public and showing them how landscaping, gardening, horticulture, and more are a part of everyday life. They work together to shape the future of Florida’s nursery and landscape industry through spearheading marketing programs, communicating the latest industry issues, and providing professional accreditations to interested individuals.
As president, John will be responsible for many duties that include presiding over Chapter meetings, learning about the issues that affect different parts of the state and planning accordingly, as well as representing the Chapter on the state level. John was elected by fellow members of the Action Chapter, which is one of 16 chapters in Florida that are organized geographically. John was installed last Tuesday night by longtime friend Billy Butterfield of AmeriScapes Landscape Management Services, Inc. Billy is the FNGLA Board Representative for the Action Chapter. The ceremony included a special slideshow highlighting John’s personal and professional career up to now, as well as a presentation of awards and a state-of-the-chapter update. It took place at the Errol Estates Golf & Country Club in Apopka, FL.
We here at John Madison Landscape would like to congratulate John on this huge honor and wish him the best of luck as he begins his year-long tenure as President in August 2012.
